Human Rights Watch have published a new report on Bahrain, entitled Targets of Retribution.
The 56 page report recommends that the Bahrain Government should immediately end it’s campaign of arrests of medical workers and attacks on injured protestors. It documents serious abuses by the Bahraini authorities since the pro-democracy protests began in mid-February.
It features interviews and first hand testaments from those who had been arrested and tortured. In one particularly harrowing account a protestor told Human Rights Watch that a police officer had told him, “If you bleed in my chair with your dirty blood I will beat you to death!”.
