UK Parliament Human Rights Group host Bahrain event

Bahrain will be discussed tomorrow in the UK Parliament, at an event hosted by the UK All Parliamentary Group on Human Rights. The esteemed panel will  discuss the BICI implementation and includes a former Comissioner of the BICI, Sir Nigel Rodley.

In addition, resigned MP from Al Wefaq Ali Alaswad will give the oppositions perspective, whilst Jamal Fakhro, Vice-Chairman of the Shura Council, will outline the Government’s view on implementation. Also speaking will be Dr. Kristian Coates-Ulrichsen, an LSE Research Fellow and Chatham House Associate Fellow.

The event aims to “promote dialogue and reconciliation in Bahrain”, and will be attended by a number of MP’s and other interested parties from the UK, as well as representatives of both the Government and the Opposition in Bahrain.

Ann Clwyd MP, Chair of the UK All Parliamentary Group on Human Rights, will Chair the session that begins from 10am on Tuesday 27th November.
